Yee-ha and The Fire Baby

As Olivia was lying in bed this morning, spending some time waking up, she said, "Last night when I was sleeping (I took this to mean that she was dreaming), a baby ran to the fire thing. The fire thing jumped into the fire and helped the baby go home". As you may know, I love to talk about and analyze dreams, and I found this one fascinating. I became very excited about the possibility of being able to hear about more of Olivia's dreams. Sophia's vocabulary has increased significantly lately. She identifies many things by the sound that they make. Train is "Choo choo", cat is "meow", a sheep is "baa baa", pig is "wee wee wee" (like in "This Little Piggy"), and dog is "woof woof". My favorite is "Yee-ha" which is horse.

What's Been Happening???

Yale pointed out to me that the last time I posted anything on this website was in the middle of December. I knew it had been awhile but I had no idea that it had been that long. ACK! We have been pretty busy the past couple of months so it doesn't surprise me that I haven't found the time to write something. I started a part-time job doing data entry for the company that Yale works for. So typically if I have a chunk of time when the kids are napping, I try to do some work. We've also been traveling some which is very unusual. We all drove to Missoula, MT to spend Christmas with Yale's parents and had a great time. The kids loved spending time with their grandparents and their grandparents' dogs, Max and Chloe. Yale and I loved having our kids spend time with their grandparents! Sophia was especially taken with Max and Chloe. She did her best with making friends with them, but I think Max and Chloe found her excitement just a bit overwhelming. Yale's parents generously gave us the very thoughtful gift of dinner and a night out at a local hotel. What a treat that was. I've found time alone with Yale to be quite a rare treasure. The drive home was pretty challenging; Olivia puked several times. I guess she had the flu or food poisoning of some sort. Then a snow storm stranded us for the night in Wheatland, Wyoming. We were lucky to get a hotel room for the night, but we were all ready to sleep in our own beds in our own house by then. In January, Yale and I got to go to Cozumel for 4 nights while Yale's parents came to our house and took care of the kids while we were gone. We had a great time, and I think both of us would go back in a heart beat. I have tons of funny and endearing stories to tell about the girls, but that will have to wait until next time. Hopefully I will write soon enough so that I don't forget what I was going to say.
